The castle hill (Schlossberg) has experienced the whole history of the city, it actually grew around it. The square in Sackstrasse at its feet is framed by the ancient Reinerhof (right), the oldest building in the city of Graz, and by the Old Mint (under Maria Theresa, left). As is well known, Santa Claus lives at the top of the Clock Tower, and every year he comes down the hill to bring presents to the children. 
 
 But you only meet him very rarely.
